Kevin Costner has finally spoken out about the contract conflict at Yellowstone that caused him to leave the popular Paramount Western drama too soon. Following rumors that appeared last year, the 69-year-old’s surprise exit from Paramount Network’s flagship show grabbed headlines. After a disagreement with producers over filming dates, Costner was departing. Showrunner Taylor Sheridan said shortly after that the fifth and final season of the program will be broken into two parts.
“Insights into Kevin Costner’s Departure from Yellowstone and Potential Season 6 Comeback”
To the pleasure of fans, Costner did not address the topic when it first arose this year, declining to comment on it. He did, however, say that he would be amenable to coming back for a potential Season 6. Ahead of the Cannes film festival, where the first installment of his grand Western epic “Horizon: A Saga of the American West” will debut, Costner gave a thorough explanation of what transpired in an interview with Deadline with the show’s creators.
Kevin Costner talked about the made-up tale that was making the rounds in the media following his exit in an interview with Deadline. According to reports from the previous year, Costner was abandoning the program due of his investment in the movie “Horizon: A Saga of the American West.” Costner admitted to Deadline that he regretted not providing fans ten more episodes of Yellowstone after spending forty-three days working on the first half of the season and departing from the set of his movie Horizon to film the second half of the show’s fifth season, which debuted in 2022. There was nothing else he needed a script for.
Afterwards, reports distorted Costner’s willingness to return for one week to shoot the season’s final two episodes. Costner clarified that he was only interested in shooting for seven days. Subsequently, Kevin Costner attacked the filmmakers in the press for choosing to shoot Horizon over Yellowstone. “I know where this is coming from because I’ve had a few enemies in my life,” he said. Being a part of this was not my choice. Yes, they did. I don’t know why they left me out, but they were tap dancing, and this poor bastard had to write all this crap.”
Costner said he would return to the series if asked, despite their differences.
